How to Make Money with Claude (2026) ⚡
The 4-prompt sequence that turns Claude into your business strategist, mentor, 90-day action plan builder, and accountability coach. Copy-paste prompts included.
Most people use AI the wrong way. They ask one vague question, get a generic answer, and walk away thinking AI can't help them make money. The problem isn't the tool. It's the approach.
This guide gives you a 4-prompt sequence designed to work in order. Each one builds on the last, turning Claude into a personalized business strategist, mentor finder, action plan builder, and accountability coach. Run all four in the same conversation. Don't skip ahead. By the time you hit Prompt #4, Claude knows your goals, your mentor, your plan, and your blockers. That's when the magic happens.
Before You Start
Open a new Claude conversation. Before running these prompts, spend 5 minutes telling Claude about yourself: your job, skills, experience, interests, and what you've tried before. The more it knows, the better these prompts work. If you have a Claude Pro subscription, Claude will remember this context across conversations. If not, paste it at the start of each new chat.
Chapter 1: The 4 Money Prompts
Prompt #1: Find Your Fastest Path to Income
This prompt forces Claude to cross-reference everything it knows about you and cut through the noise. The "one offer, one channel" constraint is critical. It prevents Claude from giving you a generic list of 15 side hustles and instead forces a focused, actionable answer. Focus wins. Scattered effort loses.
Copy this prompt:
Based on everything you know about me, what is the fastest way for me to hit my income goal of $[YOUR NUMBER]?
Limit it to one offer and one channel only.
Replace $[YOUR NUMBER] with your actual target. Be specific: $5,000/month, $10,000 in 90 days, $100K this year. Claude will analyze your specific skills, experience, and situation, then recommend one offer (freelance copywriting, a micro-SaaS, a coaching package, etc.) and one channel to sell it on (LinkedIn outreach, Twitter/X content, cold email, etc.). It will explain exactly why this combo is your fastest path.
What you'll get: A single, focused recommendation tailored to your exact background. Not 10 generic ideas. One specific offer + one specific channel = your fastest path to income based on who you actually are.
Prompt #2: Find Your Mentor
Now that Claude knows your goal, your recommended offer, and your channel, this prompt matches you with a real person who has already succeeded doing exactly what you're about to do. This isn't a random influencer recommendation. It's a targeted match based on your specific strategy. Having a mental model of someone who's already done it makes the path feel real and gives you a concrete playbook to reverse-engineer.
Copy this prompt:
Who is the single most successful person I should be learning from in order to make this happen? Give me one name.
Claude will name one real entrepreneur, creator, or expert who built wealth using a similar offer and channel to what it recommended for you. It will explain what they did, how they started, and what you can learn from their specific journey. After you get the name, Google them. Find their content, interviews, podcasts, and courses. The goal isn't to copy them. It's to study their early moves and adapt their strategy to your situation.
Tip: If the name doesn't resonate with you, push back: "That person doesn't feel like the right fit because [REASON]. Give me another name who started with less resources." Claude will recalibrate.
Prompt #3: Get a 90-Day Action Plan
This is the most powerful prompt in the sequence. Claude role-plays as the mentor it just identified and creates a concrete 90-day plan from their perspective. It's not generic advice. It's "what would [this specific successful person] tell you to do in your exact situation?" The $1,000 constraint keeps the plan grounded in reality. The "first paying customer" focus prevents analysis paralysis and forces a bias toward action over perfection.
Copy this prompt:
Pretend you are [MENTOR NAME from Prompt #2]. Create me a 90-day action plan that needs less than $1,000 up front and gets me my first paying customer as soon as possible.
Break it into three phases:
- Days 1-30: Foundation
- Days 31-60: Launch
- Days 61-90: Scale
For each phase, give me specific weekly tasks with time estimates.
You will get a detailed week-by-week plan covering: what to build, how to price it, where to find your first customers, what content to create, what tools to use, and specific milestones for each phase. The plan will be written in the voice and philosophy of your chosen mentor, drawing on their known strategies.
Don't just read it, calendar it: The difference between people who make money with these prompts and people who don't is execution. Take the Week 1 tasks and put them in your actual calendar with time blocks. The plan is worthless if it stays in a Claude window.
Prompt #4: Break Through What's Holding You Back
This is the prompt most people don't know about, and it's the one that makes the biggest difference. You now have a plan, but something is going to stop you from executing it. It always does. Fear of failure, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, fear of putting yourself out there, not knowing where to start. This prompt turns Claude into a coach that diagnoses your specific blocker through conversation, not guessing, but actually asking you questions one at a time until it pinpoints the real issue.
Copy this prompt:
Act as my entrepreneur coach. Ask me questions one at a time until you find one thing that is holding me back. Then reframe it and give me a two-week action plan to prove it works.
Don't rush. Ask at least 5-7 thoughtful questions before diagnosing the issue. I want you to really understand my situation before you give advice.
Claude will ask you thoughtful, probing questions one at a time. It might take 5-10 exchanges before it narrows in on your core blocker. Once it identifies it, it does two things: (1) reframes the belief so you can see it differently, and (2) gives you a specific two-week action plan designed to prove to yourself that the blocker isn't real. Be honest with your answers. The more honest you are, the more accurately it can diagnose what's actually holding you back.
Important: Don't give the answer you think sounds good. Give the real one. If the real answer is "I'm scared nobody will buy it" or "I don't think I'm qualified," say that. That's where the breakthrough happens.
Chapter 2: Why This Sequence Works
This 4-prompt sequence works because each prompt builds on the last. By Prompt #3, Claude has full context: your skills, your goal, your recommended strategy, and a real mentor to model. That's three layers of personalization stacked on top of each other. You'd never get that from a single prompt.
And Prompt #4 is the secret weapon. Plans are easy. Execution is hard. The coaching prompt tackles the actual reason most people quit before they start. It's not a lack of information. It's a mindset blocker. Address the blocker, and the plan actually gets executed.
Tip: Run this entire sequence every time you set a new income goal or pivot your strategy. The prompts adapt to wherever you are. Someone making $0 gets a very different plan than someone making $5K/month trying to hit $20K.
Chapter 3: Get Even More Out of Claude
Stack the context. The more Claude knows about you before you run these prompts, the better the output. Tell it your age, location, current income, past businesses, skills you're confident in, skills you want to develop, how many hours per week you can commit, and your risk tolerance. Don't hold back.
Keep the conversation going. These four prompts are a starting point, not the finish line. After you get your 90-day plan, come back to Claude weekly. Paste your progress, ask for adjustments, troubleshoot problems. Treat it like a weekly check-in with a business advisor.
Use Claude's extended thinking. For complex business strategy questions, Claude's extended thinking feature lets it reason through your situation more deeply before responding. This is especially useful for Prompt #1, where the quality of the initial recommendation shapes everything that follows.
Export and organize. Copy your 90-day plan into a doc or project management tool. Break it into weekly milestones. Track your progress. The plan loses power if it stays trapped in a chat window.
Your Next Move
